The Genesis is Hyundai’s all-new rear-wheel-drive flagship sedan that takes Hyundai upscale to compete with entry-luxury sport sedans. Powered by either a V6 or a V8 engine, Hyundai describes the Genesis as delivering the interior luxury of top European luxury sedans, world-class driving dynamics and the latest high-tech features at the price of entry-level premium brand vehicles. The all-new 2009 Hyundai Genesis is offered in two versions, the Genesis 3.8 powered by a 290-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 with an Aisin 6-speed automatic and the Genesis 4.6 powered by a 375-horsepower 4.6-liter V8 combined with a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is estimated at 17/25 mpg city/highway for Genesis 4.6 and 18/27 mpg city/highway for Genesis 3.8. Standard equipment includes leather seating surfaces, heated front seats, Electronic Stability Control, 17-inch wheels, heated outside mirrors with turn indicators, electronic front head restraints, front airbags, front and rear seat-mounted side airbags, roof-mounted side curtain airbags, fog lights and push-button start. Genesis 4.6 adds 18-inch hyper-silver alloy wheels, chrome lower bodyside moldings, ultra-premium leather seating surfaces, leather-wrapped dash and door trim inserts, power glass sunroof, power tilt and telescopic steering column, Lexicon 15-speaker surround sound audio system, six-disc CD changer, illuminated scuff plates, and wood-trimmed leather steering wheel.
